Honorary membership of the Mouseion (Alexandria Scientific academy) during the Roman period

Abstract

This study deals, the honorary or free membership of non-scientists and scholars during the Roman period, which was gained by rich men, officials, military leaders and, other groups. It attempts to knwo the reasons for granting such membership, the privileges enjoyed by these individuals, and the effects on the Mouseion as a prestigious scientific institution from granting such membership to these individuals, during that period.
