Islamic Education Teachers' Level of Linguistic Competence at the Secondary Stage

 The study aimed to detect the level of linguistic competence among Islamic education teachers at the secondary stage. The study adopted the descriptive method. In order to conduct the study, a study instrument was prepared in terms of a Linguistic Competence Scale of the teachers of Islamic education. The study was conducted, in the first semester of the 1439/1440 AH academic year, on the teachers of Islamic education, at the secondary stage, in Buraydah and Al-Ras in Qassim region. The areas of linguistic competence were identified as grammatical competence, rhetorical competence and spelling competence. The study reached a number of the following results:

The level of linguistic competence as a whole among teachers of Islamic education achieved a medium degree. The level of grammatical competence of teachers of Islamic education achieved a medium degree. The level of rhetorical competence of teachers of Islamic education achieved a low degree. The level of spelling competence among teachers of Islamic education achieved a medium degree.

The study also made a number of recommendations and suggestions, including:

Conducting a similar scientific study for the teachers of Islamic education at the primary and intermediate stages.
Designing educational programs in developing linguistic competence of teachers of Islamic education.
