Abstract
The paper addresses the future of the humanities and social sciences in light of the rise of artificial intelligence technologies. It uses a critical analytical approach that seeks to root out the challenges and transformations imposed by technological developments on these sciences, whether at the level of methodology, function, or cognitive identity. The paper seeks to understand the position of the humanities and social sciences in a digital world where knowledge production is accelerating through algorithms, and the relationship between humans and machines is being reshaped. Methodologically, the paper adopts a forward-looking analytical approach, based on deconstructing contemporary concepts and propositions at their intersection with artificial intelligence, and examining the future of these sciences in light of structural challenges and radical digital transformations. In addition to formulating a number of possible scenarios that anticipate the paths that these sciences may take in the future. The analytical approach is based on linking theoretical literature with modern philosophical and sociological discussions, employing a critical reading of the ethical and cognitive dimensions imposed by the dominance of artificial intelligence over the environment of research and scientific production. The paper reached several central conclusions, most notably that artificial intelligence is no longer merely a support tool, but rather a cognitive actor reshaping ways of thinking and research methods. This requires the humanities and social sciences to develop their tools and expand their conceptual horizons, without abandoning their interpretive and humanistic dimensions. It also indicated that these sciences are required to transcend disciplinary isolation and create interdisciplinary knowledge systems that interact with data science and algorithms, while simultaneously preserving their critical discourse.
