Abstract

This study aims to uncover the social and ethical implications of generative artificial intelligence applications, focusing on ChatGPT as one of the most prominent examples of this technology in the contemporary world. It seeks to analyze the transformations brought about by these applications in social and cultural structures by examining their impact across various fields, such as the labor market, human relationships, education, media, healthcare, and other vital sectors. The study also highlights the ethical dilemmas associated with the use of such models, including issues of privacy, algorithmic bias, lack of transparency, weak accountability, as well as challenges related to digital justice and technological monopolies. The research underscores the dual nature of these technologies — offering vast opportunities to enhance efficiency, creativity, and accelerate innovation, while simultaneously posing risks and challenges that may threaten human values and deepen social and economic divides. The study concludes by emphasizing the need for a conscious and responsible approach to engaging with this technology through the development of clear regulatory and ethical frameworks that promote its safe and equitable use and ensure the protection of individuals and communities from its negative repercussions, especially amid the rapid expansion of generative AI applications worldwide.
