Requirements for adopting artificial intelligence technologies in Saudi academic libraries from the perspective of their staff: Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University libraries as a model

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the status of libraries affiliated with Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University and to determine the requirements for adopting artificial intelligence technologies in them. The study relied on the descriptive analytical approach, and the researcher used the questionnaire as a tool for collecting data. The study showed positive results regarding the readiness of Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University libraries to adopt artificial intelligence technologies. This indicates that the university realizes the importance of these technologies in improving and developing library services. The technical requirements represent the most important requirements of artificial intelligence that must be adopted in Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University libraries, followed by human and organizational requirements, while the financial challenge represents the most important challenge that hinders the library's ability to adopt artificial intelligence technologies.
