Abstract

Pragmatics is an important area in language processing within its use in social activity, and speech acts represent the essence of pragmatics. This is because the theory of speech acts, its establishment and its methodology adjustment later on, was based on the rejection of narrowing the energies of language and confining them to declarative description. The speech act, based on its components, includes a significance that carries the reason for achievement and effect. The theory of speech acts was based on dividing speech acts into five categories: declarative, performative, obligatory, expressive, and declarative. The study deals with the performative actions in the poem “Tanwimat Aljiaa” by Muhammad Mahdi Al-Jawahiri, which establishes a central performance force and achieves a significant impact on the recipient. Based on its combination of contradictions, the poet took the performative action as a nucleus for forming a deep structure that was established based on the juxtaposition between the request and what prevents its direct fulfillment, so that the recipient can understand what is beyond the superficial level, and realize what verbal acts of all kinds constitute in terms of achievement aspects that the poet employed to create a central achievement resulting from the diversity of achievement situations.
