Abstract

The family planning policy is a significant event in the history of Chinese society, and China has continued to implement this policy for decades, greatly influencing the population structure in various aspects. This policy has produced both positive and negative effects, making it a subject of great interest for different sectors of society, the media, news agencies, and countries around the world. The role of literature in spreading culture and raising awareness cannot be denied, and the writer Mo Yan is one of those authors with a strong social conscience. He always focuses on real life and expresses the joys and sorrows of people. In his novel "Frog" he reveals the impact of the family planning policy on individuals and families, clearly presenting the bright and dark sides of this experience. While the family planning policy succeeded in achieving its goals and controlling the population explosion, the strict measures that accompanied it also caused harm to the Chinese people.
