Abstract

This study falls within the scope of artificial intelligence and the future of higher education in the humanities and social sciences. It aims to identify artificial intelligence applications that can be utilized to enhance higher education development in Mauritania amidst technological advancements. The study adopts a descriptive-analytical approach, examining studies, research, and literature related to artificial intelligence. Additionally, a digital survey was conducted to identify the main challenges facing higher education institutions and the role of artificial intelligence applications in addressing these challenges, whether at the administrative, faculty, or student levels.
Certainly, some of these challenges and issues can be addressed by employing various artificial intelligence applications in the educational process, such as smart learning systems, intelligent content, virtual reality technology, and others. This underscores the necessity of adopting artificial intelligence applications in higher education institutions in Mauritania, promoting technological literacy, and raising awareness among educational institutions and society about the positive effects of artificial intelligence. To approach this topic, we divided it into two axes: the first addressing the evolution of artificial intelligence in the field of science, while the second focuses on artificial intelligence technology and the challenges of higher education in Mauritania.
