Abstract

       This study seeks to trace the phenomenon of politeness in the speeches of Abu Ubaida, the military spokesman for the Martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the strategies he followed in this phenomenon, and the most important principles he relied on in the phenomenon of politeness. This is because Abu Ubaidah’s sermons are lively sermons that keep pace with daily events in the Gaza Strip and Palestine, and accordingly his recipients were numerous.
The study relied on the pragmatic approach, which is concerned with the linguistic and situational context and the context and circumstances of communication. It was concerned with studying speeches and their relationships with the referential context and the communicative process, focusing on the phenomenon of politeness, its principles and strategies in Abu Ubaidah’s speeches.
