Abstract
Each word has its own meaning and distinctive form which sets it apart from the other words, which is generally true. However, some words may be used connected with some other words based on the linguistic system and the grammatical rules that should not be violated in correct writing. We also note that the written form of some words may not accurately reflect their phonetic forms, while in other cases, the written form and the phonetic form of those words correspond exactly. This is a well-known phenomenon in Arabic, studied by ancient and contemporary scholars. However, it remains a challenge for many individuals today, especially writers, who often ignore its importance, either because they consider it a trivial issue or because they do not understand the rules and principles governing such cases. This research focuses on a particular type of letter, namely أن لا and ألّا, which can sometimes be connected and separated at other times, leading to confusion about the criteria used by the writer for connecting or separating them. Consequently, it has become necessary to understand the rules that dictate their written forms when connected or separate. Research has reached conclusions and methods that any writer should follow to understand and apply these rules in accordance with Arabic grammar, which must be respeced.
