Cultural references to the phenomena of interpretation in the theatrical critical discourse of Hoda Wasfi : the modernity of melodrama as a model

Abstract :
The study aims to look at the effectiveness of cultural references and their roles in interpreting critical concepts, revealing the cognitive assets and applied practices in the theatrical critical discourse of Hoda Wasfi, as one of the female figures in the last decades of the twentieth century and the beginning of the twenty-first century, which represents a prominent critical mark, as she contributed with her great contribution to literary life, the modern and contemporary cultural arena, with her new critical product, characterized by abundance, richness and diversity. Our current research, which comes from a deep knowledge of foreign cultures and European trends, benefiting from them in crystallizing a contemporary Arab critical discourse; to reveal special formulations and new textual embroideries, based on the "modernity of melodrama", and taking care of the tools of description, analysis and re-reading, which has a great impact on the completion of the reception process. The study addresses the answer to the main question: How did Hoda Wasfi employ the references of the conceptual system within the theatrical critical discourse ? The study reached an important conclusion that revealed Hoda Wasfi's innovative critical vision, in which she mixed the inherent of our local culture with modernist experiences, opening up other horizons for the production of new forms and special styles that evolve according to what the critical discourse of literary genres can provide.
