Repetition and it’s effect on semantic transformation in Salim Barakat’s poetry: “Aljumhrat” and “Almuejam” are two samples

Abstract

This research seeks to study the stylistic repetition and it’s effect on making semantic transformations in the two poetry collections: “Almuejam” and “Aljumhrat” by the poet Salim Barakat. The poetic language in the two aforementioned collections was filled with this stylistic technique that worked to enrich the connotations and create profound transformations within the poetic structure. It was used in the two poetry collections in a different way. Researcher monitored and clarified it within their poetic contextual frameworks. He was divided into presenting to talk about repetition as one of the methods which poet can depend on to construct his poetic poem. Then researcher moved on to talk about the details and formations of the presence of this stylistic technique in the two poetry collections: “Aljumhrat ” and “ Almuejam” as they are the basic of research and study. The researcher talked about the repetition of the word and its manifestations in the two groups, within the statistical stylistic methodology, then he explained the semantic manifestations that came from these repetitions as a result in the two poetry groups. Then the researcher moved on to talk about the repetition of the verb with its includes: structure or formula, and the representations that this repetition carries which are different and rich semantics contributed greatly to creating transformations and building expectations horizon which the recipient can construct different readings.
