Abstract

Geographical Assessment of Public Services in the Institutes of the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training in the State of Kuwait

Research Summary: This study analyzed a group of public services provided by the institutes of the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training in the State of Kuwait to trainees registered there. The study aims to evaluate the services related to parking, restaurants, cafés, gardens, and green areas that spread in the region and the extent of their adequacy to provide comfort to students between lectures. The study also examined the efficiency of Internet networks that serve students in the educational process, specially the distance learning system inside and outside institutes.
The descriptive approach and the analytical and quantitative approach were relied upon through the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) techniques and its multiple tools, for analyzing the public services that exist in the buildings of applied education and training institutes and their adequacy and ability to serve students and trainees in the institutes. Also, statistical analysis tools and evaluation of questionnaire forms collected from personal interviews were used, in order to produce better results about the public services provided to students, teaching staff members, and employees of the institutes.
