Abstract

Scholars of Arabic grammatical heritage have noticed that Arabs used to strengthen the weak grammatical element and vice versa. Ibn Jinni said that they used to do so flexibly, freely, and even haphazardly. However, this research paper assumes that Arabs did not strengthen the weak and weaken the strong in such a coincidence. Rather, they have tended to do so according to highly accurate regulations and disciplined criteria. Thus, the study aims at deducing and deriving such regulation by determining and inferring the places of such phenomenon in application on one of the works of Arabic grammar in an attempt to set such regulations and criteria within specified formula. The importance of the study lies in its attempt to devise standards that the researcher assumes that the ancient Arab grammarians relied on in explaining the strengthening of the weak and the weakening of the strong, by limiting all the places of the phenomenon mentioned in the book ((hama elhawamee) for Al-Suyuti), and the work in this study proceeds according to the descriptive approach, which confines The places of the grammatical phenomenon in the specified book, then re-typing it and including it under specific criteria from the researcher’s deduction, and the reason for choosing this book specifically is due to the fact that Al-Suyuti is late, as he died in the year 911 AH, which makes the researcher assume that he absorbed the heritage of the grammarians who preceded him.
