Abstract

MEDICAL DISCOURSE:
FUNCTIONAL AND COMMUNICATIVE ASPECT

This article analyzes the interpretation of the phenomenon of "discourse". Based on the generalization and systematization of scientific research, two dominant interpretations of this concept are proposed using the terms of the modern theory of language communication through the synthesis of cognitive, linguistic and extralinguistic factors. The authors systematize the characteristics of medical discourse as institutional in accordance with the standards governing its functioning. An important feature of medical discourse is its verbalization in typical communicative situations in the medical field through the solution of communicative tasks related to the implementation of the basic professional functions of a doctor. It was revealed that the medical discourse is not homogeneous, its varieties are distinguished depending on the communicative sub-sphere of implementation. Relevant for teaching students of medical specialties in higher educational institutions are medical scientific-academic and educational-professional discourses, each of which contains a sub-sphere of network discourse. The object of research in this article is the medical educational and professional discourse as the basis for the formation of a professional and communicative image of applicants for medical education in higher educational institutions. With the use of personality-oriented and functional-communicative linguistic approaches, the levels and components of the medical educational and professional discourse are identified, and its structural model is presented.
