Abstract

Rhythm and its study in the prose poem constitute one of the major problems, most of which arose from the nature of critical discourse, which devoted the prose poem as an art form rebellious on rhythm and meter, as well as a modernity, and a form of experimentation to which the long Arabic poem was exposed. As the prose poem sought to invent new rhythmicpattern to replace the patterns it had abandoned, it began searching for its purpose in nice and intertwined data, which is not easy to find guidance in, as is the case in the classical poem in which rhythm is an independent normative pillar represented in the seas of Al-Khalil bin Ahmed Al-Farahidi and its known activations.
This study seeks to shed light on the most important rhythmic manifestations in the prose poem by the Syrian poet Riyad Al-Saleh Al-Hussein, and the extent of their effectiveness in producing significance and enhancing the dynamism of the text. The study will take the complete poetic works of this poet as an initial starting material to find out about these manifestations, taking advantage of the critical blog that dealt with the rhythm in Arabic poetry in general, and in the prose poem in particular, without going very deep in the theoretical aspects that are very available in many resources and studies.
