Abstract

This research seeks to shed light on the ideological struggle in light of the Russian wars on Ukraine (2014-2022). in early 2022. Both the Russian and Ukrainian sides exchanged accusations of allying with extremist ideologies such as fascism and neo-Nazism. This research relied on the use of the structural approach in analyzing the growth of neo-Nazism in Ukraine, especially the role of politicians and political elites in using culture as a weapon in the political and international conflict.

The research was able to reach a number of important conclusions, most notably: 1- Ideology is still used as one of the tools of international conflict, where politicians resort to it to justify their policies based on wars or alliances with extremist forces. 2- The emergence of fascist ideologies is a dangerous indication of the deteriorating political and economic conditions that societies are going through. 3- A number of Ukrainian nationalist elements played an important role in overthrowing Tsarist Russia and the leadership of the Soviet Union. 4- Conservative and neo-democratic thought still dominates the American decision-maker, especially by glorifying the idea of war and conflict with Russia and the expansion of NATO.
