Abstract

The Corona pandemic has caused severe damage to global economic activity, as the restrictions imposed by countries to curb the spread of this dangerous virus have caused a tremendous impact on global economic growth. Unparalleled globality in terms of the huge human losses on the one hand, along with other losses, especially economic ones due to the partial and total closure, which led to the most severe recession the world has witnessed since World War II
Since the outbreak of the Corona pandemic, the global economy has been almost completely paralyzed, and there are many economic sectors that have suffered heavy losses, including the foreign trade sector, due to the sharp decline in production, supply and import activities due to the imposition of new measures that worked to restrict freedom of trade, and Egypt is one of the countries affected by the Corona virus to This prompted the Egyptian government to take many precautionary and preventive measures to work to protect citizens, This research came to form an accurate picture of the impact of the pandemic on the Egyptian foreign trade sector by analyzing Egypt’s merchandise exports and imports in terms of their spatial trends and commodity composition, evaluating the economic efficiency of Egypt’s foreign trade during the pandemic period, and presenting a picture of the future of Egypt’s foreign trade in the post-Corona stage.
