Social Capacity Building for Youth as an Orientation towards their Participation in Development Issues in the Emirati Society

Abstract

In light of the international, regional, national and local interest in the youth category, and the approval by the United Nations on August 12 of an international youth day celebrated annually starting in the year 2000, the current study seeks to identify the social capacity building of youth as an orientation towards their participation in development issues in the Emirati society , The variables of social capacity building have been determined in building the capacity of: social responsibility, social participation, and social communication. Moreover, this study aimes at determining the relationship between some demographic variables and the social capabilitiesbuilding for  youth as an orientationtowards their participation in development issues in the Emirati society; this is done by testing its main assumptions, which include a statistically significant relationship between some of the demographic variables of the study and the social capabilities building for youth as an orientation towards their participation in development issues in the Emirati society. It is expected that there is a statistically significant relationship between the social capabilities building for youth and their orientation towards participating in development issues in the Emirati society. The social survey method is used with a simple random sample. The study sample includes 286 individuals, and a questionnaire is used by the researcher. The results of the study prove the validity of its hypotheses. The results reveal that the process of the social capabilities building of youth increases their chances of participating in development issues. Participation in development activities in society will only be achieved through improving the social performance of youth by building their capabilities. There is also clear support for the idea of ​​teamwork and considering social responsibility as a success for any development work
