Suleiman Al Mousa and the Writing of the History of Jordan and the Great Arab Revolt

Abstract

This study aims to shed light on the experience of Suleiman Al Mousa (1919 – 2008) in the history of Jordan and the Great Arab Revolution (1916) as a pioneer in studying them. It is an attempt to reveal the privacy of the author’s experience in the level of completeness, maturity and uniqueness. This study showed that the peculiarity of the author’s experience was demonstrated by his ability to access various Arab and foreign documentary information sources. He makes use of contemporary writings of events and benefits from the oral accounts and field studies. In addition to his ingenuity in organizing, emptying and drafting it in a high literary methodological level, which made his writings especially valuable in its field.
