Abstract
The current research seeks to identify the nature of fourth-generation warfare and its distinctiveness, and to reveal the tools and weapons used in it, in addition to revealing the technological development in changing the dynamics of wars and its impact on destabilizing social security, while reviewing the features of the incident in Western wars, supervising their future, and arriving at movements to confront the effects of modern warfare.
This research falls within the scope of descriptive-analytical researches, using the social survey method with a sample. Data was collected through several tools: a questionnaire tool with a sample of the members of the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence at Damietta University, numbering (330) students, and an interview guide with (10) faculty member.
The research arrived at several key findings, the most important of which are: that fourth-generation wars resort to the method of intellectual recruitment, where fears and identities are exploited to change individuals’ convictions and direct their behavior towards specific goals that work to create chaos in societies. Moreover, wars are no longer limited to direct confrontations; rather, they have extended to include other, more deadly arenas, such as psychological warfare and the use of sectarian groups to implement their hidden agendas, There are many psychological tricks used to dismantle societies, the most prominent of which is the spread of rumors and false information that affects societies, especially the youth. Modern wars leave a clear imprint on various aspects of societal life, as these wars go beyond the traditional dimensions of military conflict to clearly impact the social fabric as a whole. A major shift in the nature of conflicts is also expected, , Future wars will be driven by smart technology, wars will become more stealthy, and fifth- and sixth-generation warfare will dominate the future security landscape .
