An Analysis of the Spatial Correlation of the Distribution of Commercial and Service Activities on Both Sides of Faisal Street Using Geographic Information Systems

The study of streets, centers, and commercial complexes is a relatively recent branch of economic geography. This study attempts to shed light on "Faisal Street”, which is one of most important streets in Giza in terms of commercial activity. The study monitors and studies the commercial activities in terms of their patterns and classifications with the aim of highlighting the commercial and service importance of this street, which has 1806 commercial store, according to the researcher. The study aims to reach the prevailing commercial pattern, and then determine the most influential commercial activities in the street. This is done by examining the geographical characteristics of commercial uses and identifying the numerical, qualitative and survey complex of the commercial and service establishments on the street and the characteristics of shoppers. Finally, this study tries to identify the problems facing shoppers there, mainly the congestion of the street, finding some solutions, and suggestions to solve these problems.
