This research is a critical analysis of Muhamad Almaghut's 1939-2006 collection of poems entitled "Sadness in the Moonlight". Almaghut is a revolutionary poet who rebelled against the political situation at his time expressing his sadness for what has become of the Arabic World. He is a prolific writer who wrote prose poetry, essays, plays and novels. Alienation is one of the most distinguished characteristics of his poetry, alongside with symbolism and narrativity. He was imprisoned because of his revolutionary views. He rebelled against social values and this was clearly reflected in his poetry. His collection of poems consists of 18 poems, in diverse styles, and deal with the triangle of home, the beloved and nature, in a rather modern frame/approach
